Key Structural Engineer to repair the Fryar Avenue Bridge over the Stuck River for the City of Sumner, Washington State, USA. Task was to repair a failing abutment wall for this 50-year-old concrete box girder bridge. Performed full analysis of existing bridge to determine necessary improvements. Economical repair included filling unused cattle-pass area in front of abutment wall to transfer earth pressures to adjacent pier wall and addition of an approach slab to the bridge.
